Lent

In the Lutheran tradition, Lent is considered a season of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal. It is a time when believers are invited to contemplate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, focusing on His suffering and death as the means of salvation. The importance of Lent lies in its call to humility and self-examination, encouraging Lutherans to seek forgiveness, deepen their faith, and prepare their hearts for the celebration of Easter. By observing Lent, individuals are reminded of God's grace and the transformative power of Christ's resurrection.

Our Lenten journey begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, with a worship service at 7 o’clock in the evening. This will be with Holy Communion and the option to receive an ash cross on your forehead.

The Sundays in Lent will prepare us for Holy Week and Easter. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday/The Sunday of The Passion on March 29, Maundy Thursday on April 2 (7:00 pm), Good Friday on April 3 (7:00 pm), and The Glorious Day of Resurrection Easter Sunday on April 5.
