In the reading of Isaiah today, we hear the good news and the call to “Arise, shine, for your light has come.”  Epiphany is all about the revealing and making manifest the light of Christ, which we also hear in the gospel of Matthew today, fulfilled in Bethlehem as foretold, and as witnessed and proclaimed by Wise Men from the East who came seeking the newborn king.  The light of the star guides them, and in our hearing of this, we too are called to seek and follow the light of Christ as it shines in the world, in our lives, and in our hearts, leading us ever closer to the Lord.
