This Sunday's theme recounts Joseph and Mary bringing Jesus to the temple for the rite of purification,
as written in the law of the Lord. They respond to the word with faithful action, bringing Jesus
to Jerusalem. In addition to the word of the Lord and the actions of Joseph and Mary, we also
have wonderful models of both word and deed in the temple from Simeon and from Anna. Lord,
may both our words and our deeds speak to your grace and your holy purpose, drawing us ever
closer to your will and in deeper relationship with you.
