Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, and we are called in the book of Joel today to return to the Lord with all our heart.  We mark this 40 days journey with Jesus, mindful of his journey to Jerusalem and his passion, death, and resurrection.  Today we will focus on Psalm 51, remembering God’s mercy and steadfast love.  Along with the psalmist, throughout Lent we also call out to the Lord to create in me a clean heart, and to renew a right spirit within me.
