Today we hear of cloaks and branches being spread before the Lord and shouts of hosannah to the son of David; to Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.  Yet today soon after this celebration and rejoicing we also hear of Jesus before Pilate, and of the chief priests and elders persuading the crowds to call for the very crucifixion of Jesus.  Amazingly, all this was according to God’s plan, and as we hear today in Philippians, the Son of God who humbled himself even to the point of death on a cross is now exalted and his name is above every name.
